Toilet repair and replacement in Stockport
Leaking from the base, running all day, a flush that doesn't clear, or a cistern that's cracked. Fixed the same day in most cases, replaced where a fix won't last.
DJB Plumbing & Heating repairs and replaces toilets across Stockport. Eva's review on the current site is a leaking toilet that two previous plumbers had failed to fix. Most toilet repairs are done within the first hour with parts from the van.
Toilet problems I fix
- Toilets that keep running or refill on their own
- Leaks from the base, the cistern, or the pan connector
- Weak or incomplete flushes
- Cracked cisterns and pans
- Push-button flush units that have failed
- Concealed cisterns behind tiled walls
- New toilets fitted, including wall-hung and close-coupled
What happens on the visit
- I check the fill valve, the flush valve and the seals, which between them cause almost every toilet fault.
- Most repairs are a replacement valve or seal from the van and are done within the hour.
- If the pan or cistern is cracked, or parts are no longer made, I quote for a new toilet and fit it on the same visit if you have one or on a date if I need to source it.
What it costs
Most toilet repairs are done within the first hour plus a part. A new close-coupled toilet supplied and fitted is a fixed price, quoted on the phone. Full details on the pricing page.
What customers say
Despite having been told by other plumbers and the manufacturer that our smart shower was not fixable, Declan was able to source a new part and we now have a working shower as good as new. Declan kept us informed along the way, turned up when he said he would and did a fantastic job. Would highly recommend him.

Declan did the job well. Will definitely ask for his service again. Excellent work, I'm happy with the single tap. He was also approachable and nice, as per my partner. Good job DJB.

Toilet repair and replacement questions
Why does my toilet keep running?
Either the fill valve is not shutting off or the flush valve seal is letting water through into the pan. Both are cheap parts and a quick fix.
There is water around the base of the toilet. Is it serious?
It can be. It might be condensation, a leaking supply, or the pan connector to the soil pipe. The last one needs sorting quickly because it is foul water. Ring me and I will tell you what to look for.
Can you fit a toilet I have bought?
Yes. Send me a photo of the box and the existing toilet so I can check the pan connector and the supply will line up.
