Radiator replacement and installation in Stockport
New radiators throughout, a towel rail in the bathroom, or the old one taken off the wall so you can decorate. Fitted, balanced and bled before I leave.
DJB Plumbing & Heating replaces and installs radiators across Stockport, from a single towel rail to a whole house. Emma B. and Christine H. both left reviews for radiator work, including removal for decorating and refitting afterwards.
Radiator work I do
- Replacing old single-panel radiators with modern double panels for more heat
- Heated towel rails in bathrooms and en-suites
- Vertical and designer radiators, including moving the pipework to suit
- Taking radiators off and refitting them for decorating or flooring
- Moving radiators for a new kitchen layout or extension
- Fitting thermostatic valves so each room can be controlled separately
- Adding a radiator to a room that has never had one
What happens on the visit
- I measure the room and check the existing pipework so the new radiator actually heats the space. Bigger isn't always better; the right output is.
- Old radiator off, valves replaced, new radiator on, system refilled and every radiator in the house bled and balanced.
- If the wall behind needs making good before a new radiator goes on, I tell you before, not after.
Radiators off for decorating
A common job: the decorator needs the radiators off the wall, and back on afterwards. I take them off, cap the valves, and come back on the day you need them refitted. Christine H. had exactly this done ahead of tiling.
What it costs
Removing and refitting a radiator for decorating is a fixed price per radiator, quoted on the phone. New radiators and towel rails are priced per unit fitted, including valves; a whole house is quoted in writing. Full details on the pricing page.
What customers say
I recently had work done by DJB Plumbing, including fitting new radiators throughout, installing a sink and removing old pipes in our new kitchen. I couldn't be more impressed with the results. From start to finish the service was professional, efficient and carried out to a very high standard.
Emma B., Google review
I highly recommend DJB Plumbing and Heating. Declan removed my old radiator and shower, ready for new tiling. He then returned to connect the new radiator and refit the shower. I'm really pleased with the finish. I'll definitely be booking him for more jobs in the near future.

Radiator replacement questions
How big a radiator do I need?
It depends on the room size, the windows and the insulation. I calculate it rather than guess. An undersized radiator never gets the room warm; an oversized one costs more than it needs to.
Can you fit a towel rail where there is no radiator now?
Yes, as long as there is a heating pipe within reach under the floor or in the wall. I will check at the visit.
Do I need thermostatic valves?
They let you turn rooms down that you do not use, which saves money. I fit them as standard on new radiators unless you ask otherwise.
